Believe it or not I'm actually going to watch the video wire before watching the show! That's right I'm going to be fully up to date. Although I prefer the PPV Previews they used to do rather than these ammatuer hour looking video wire. So with that in mind here's my recap of the recap!
-We start the video wire with Sweet and Sour Inc. including Johnny Fairplay blaming Albright for a loss and telling him to prove himself by taking a shot at Bobby Dempsey. Everybody else does but Albright turns on Sweet and Sour Inc. Absolutely killing all off them including powerbombing Hagadorn out of the ring through a table and giving Sara Del Ray a half nelson suplex. Sweeney and Fairplay made the narrow escape.
-We then go to The Age Of The Fall holding down Aries but Jimmy choses not to kill him for what he did to Lacey but he promises to make his life hell from now on.
-We then see a bloody Jay Briscoe with his brother Mark saying to Mark he can't do it without him and saying he gives up the world tag team titles until Mark is back in action.
-We then get a nervous Delirious asking Daizee Haze out to dinner, maybe Nobu? When Rhett Tittus comes out? I've never seen this guy before, he's dancing like a goofy ball. He appears to have charisma but looks very goofy. He says there infront of Ring Honor's biggest crowd ever. He says all Daizee is focusing on is Titus. His thrusts is a must, his shoulders are the size of boulders and he has a great back and a six pack. Daizee says she wants to leave. Delirious in his shirt and tie drops his flower and walks off solemnly as the crowd chant "You Got Cock Blocked". Delirious and Daizee were good but Titus was terrible.
-We then go to a special sit down interview with Dave Prazak and Austin Aries. Prazak asks Aries about Lacey and Jacobs. He said he didn't steal Lacey because she isn't a possesion, Lacey chose to be with him because Jimmy treated her like a possesion. Austin Aries then says Lacey wasn't convince by The Age Of The Fall, he says Jimmy isn't a leader he just talks about problems and never offers solutions. Dave asks if Jacobs has got into his head, Aries says there are mind games going both ways, Aries is the hunter not Jacobs. Dave then asks about Jay Briscoe leaving Aries alone with Age Of The Fall. He says Jay called him in the morning drunk, said he'd lost alot of blood and forgot he wasn't teaming with Mark and just went to the back to see Mark. Dave then asks about the vacated belts. He says him and Danielson will wind the tournement. When he asks Lacey about where she is, Aries says it doesn't matter he doesn't want anyone to talk about it. Jacobs comes from behind Prazak as he closes out the segment and as Austin's time is coming. Hit and miss segment but mostly hit.
-They then decide to show the controversal footage that cause Aries to storm out of the sit down interview. It's a clip from Ageofthefall.com and its lo res. They see Lacey coming out of a shop or gym. Jimmy walks out of the car and confronts Lacey, its shot from a handheld in the car. It cuts and then says to be continued. Apparently its Lacey's last moment in proffesional wrestling.
.
Now we're all caught up its on with the show!
.
Respect is Earned II
.

Jigsaw comes off top with a flying crossbody and then a double Knee. Steen tries a farewell but Jigsaw just uses the elovation to nail Generico with a dropkick. Ruckus gives Steen a front flip plancha. Jigsaw blocks the Yakuza kick and scores with a Blue Thunder bomb. Steen blocks a Gory special big boots Ruckus and Gives Jigsaw a spinning Gory Back breaker and then powerbombs Ruckus ontop Jigsaw, and plays to the crowd deservingly.
Generico goes for the Yakuza kick but its blocked so he gets the arm wrench rope walk DDT instead. Steen then hits the pump handle neckbreaker for two. Generico gives Jigsaw the Yakuza kick andn then gets the diving front flip Plancha on Ruckus. Steen then hits the superkick and Swanton bomb and Generico gets the three count.
That was a superb opener. God ROHs depth chart looks so much better with Steen and Generico on the books. I still have the problem that the Vulture Squad (minus Jack Evans) offence just doesn't seem credible in terms of trying to win a proffesional wrestling match but it didn't hurt this match too much. Short, Concise and Very Good. (***)
.
Davey Richards vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Davey Richards turns down the handshake from Claudio. Nigel joins us on commentary. Claudio scores with a European uppercut, a body slam and leg drop for two. Claudio escapes the hold and unloads with three big European uppercuts. They then trade uppercuts and an knee stikes. Claudio then hits his spinning x-factor. Richards locks a bridging arm bar and then rolls to the second for a Kamora, Claudio powers up but gets rolled up for two. Claudio then hits a truely Giant Swing and a devasting pop up European Uppercut for the win.
Solid match with a good finishing sequence over wise not particularly inspiring. (**1/2)
.
We then get a excellent promo where Larry Sweeney introduces all the members of Sweet and Sour Inc. Before Pearce thanks Sweeney for all the opportunities and Hero promises to Knock Brent Albright out.
.
Brent Albright then says he hates Larry Sweeney and does a lame Rock style insultfest. He then gets better saying Adam Pearce was his brother and money drove them appart. He then introduces his army. Pelle Primeau he has heart, Brent has power, Delirious has insanity and Daizee will watch out for Sara Del Ray. When Daizee appears Delirious starts flirting with her.
.
Sweet and Sour Inc. (w/Larry Sweeney, Sara Del Ray, Bobby Dempsey & Shane Hagadorn) vs. Brent Albright, Delirious & Pelle Primeau (w/Daizee Haze)
Brent and his arm charge the ring and clear it. Sweet and Sour we group outside and have a team talk. Pelle scores with a ranna on Eddie Edwards to start the match. Hero stomps the tar out of Delirious. Albright grabs Hero from the apron and unloads. Pearce scores with a top rope bunch. All three heels unload on Delirious in the corner and then give him a double atomic drop for two. Hero and Delirious exchange strikes. Eddie Edwards tags in and goes for a back suplex up Delirious lands on his feet and is an inch away from making a tag. Delirious gives Edwards a chin breaker and then after one more tease manages to make the tag. Albright kills everyone with closelines, then a overhead belly to belly suplex, a killer german suplex on Hero and a back body drop for Pearce. Daize takes out Del Ray. Pelle gets a sling shot Thez press and then his baseball slide ranna. Albright no sells all of Edwards' offence. Albright goes for the Half Nelson suplex but Edwards counters with a arm drag. Edwards hits a superkick but Brent no sells it. Brent gives him the emerald fusion and the knee strikes KO Eddie for the win.
That was ugly but told an easy to follow story. Not impressive was more of a set up for the post match than anything else. (*1/2)
.
Post match Pearce destroys Albright with his suitcase and Sweet and Sour Inc. enter the ring. Sweeney informs everyone that they have the most prestigious belt in wrestling history and belt with true honor the NWA World Heavyweight Title and Adam Pearce is the new champion. He then says if Albright or ROH want the title they have to deal with Larry Sweeney.
.
We then go to a very good (by ROH standards) video recap of the NRC-Erik Stevens fued.
.
Fight Without Honor
Roderick Strong vs. Erik Stevens
The two men brawl down the isle and Stevens look pretty good with his new hair cut, less unique but more of an approachable look for the fanbase. Stevens throws Strong into the Gaurd rail but Strong repplies with a low blow and they then go to a brutal chop exchange. Stevens powers Strong into the apron and they continue to exchange incredible Kobashi-esque chops. they then go to more of a traditional slugfest with neither man going down, they throw in headbutts and kicks and still neither man will fall. Strong then scores with a dangerous looking suplex on the outside. Roderick then makes a ladder table between the ring and the gaurd rail. The two men then brawl someone. Stevens sets up a chair in the corner and throws Strong brutally into the chair. Strong comes back with a boot. Strong then puts a chair on Stevens face and brutally stomps it on his head. Strong then pokes Stevens with the chair and then unloads on Stevens legs and they show a slow motion replay of that brutal chair stomp from earlier. Strong sets up the ladder pointing out from the ringpost, this is gonna be nasty.
Strong gives Stevens a brutal chop and you can see that that one hurt him too. Strong goes for the Irish whip but its reverse and Strong goes head first into the ladder. Stevens slugs Strong down and then scrapes and bites open Strong's forehead. Stevens gets a snapmare and clubs Strong in the face. Stevens screams at Strong as we get a close up of Strongs bloody head. They return to the ring to a round of applause. Both the men then exchange stiff knife edge chops. Both men are tired but neither man relents and neither goes down. Stevens finally floors Strong with a larait and both men are down. Strong gets a chair and creams Stevens with it but it only gets two! Strong sets up a table its leg is a bit fucked, Strong sets up a second table this one does stand. Strong then sets up the humungous ladder of death. Stevens unloads on with forearm strikes on Strong. Stevens chops the crap out of Strong and sends himup the ladder. Both men climb to the top of the ladder and the crowd chant "Please Don't Die". Strong then scores with a superplex off the top of the ladder through two tables. That was incredible. The crowd chant holy shit, Strong's back is bleeding and as the refs count reaches eight Roderick rolls over and makes the cover.
Well that was a good blood feud brawl with a suitably draw dropping finale. If that was the conclusion to the fued they went out with one hell of a bang. Not a amazing match but it delivered exactly what it needed to a fitted the situation down to a tee. (***1/2)
.

Both men then trade open hand slaps, Go looks dead on his feet but he pops up with a leaping crescent kick right on the button but Nigel rebounds with the Jawbreaker Lariat killing Go. Nigel then locks Go in the London Dungeon for the win.
Started rather formulaic and uninspired but it built nicel with lots of convincing near falls and good action. There was some sloppy moments and for the most part it was a very very good very stiff title match. Not really a star making performance for Go who is consitant but not a real standout. Nigel has proved his heel act is perfectly suited to big time mainevents against any body. (***3/4)
.
Bryan Danielson somes out and says Nigel has been ducking him for two long and challenges him to a title match and he wants it on Pay Per View. Nigel doesn't respond but tells the crowd he's not affraid of anybody.

Wow that was an incredible intense tag match and the last few minutes were just incredible. I'd love to see Black-Danielson. This is one of those matches were business just continued to pick up throughout and had a tonne of super mermorable visuals. That was a huge dominant win for Tyler Black. Good tag team main event. If this broke into two seperate single fueds that would be brilliant and make the next PPV must see. (****)
.
Nigel then comes out and mocks Danielson for losing to Tyler Black a guy he "made light work of", he says Danielson will never get a title shot until he beats everyone Nigel has beaten. Good Promo.
.
Overall Thoughts: Again this wasn't ROH's strongest ever PPV but it hang together really nicely and had excellent production in comparison to their prior efforts. The short card and better designed match lenghts also greatly helped the flow of the show. The top three matches were well worth buying the show for and the opener was also strong. While Tyler Black is certianly being made into a big star I'm not sure I support his demolition of Danielson at the end of the match, as I don't see him as seriously ready to be put in a position to carry the promotion yet. Nigel is still the star of the show but he seriously needs a credible opponents, while he has worked wonders with Go and especially Black, you never really feel his title is in danger. If Claudio is next well that's not exactly high suspense either, although I'm sure the resulting match will be top notch. Good Recommendation

Take No Prisoners 2008
.
Lenny Leonard and Dave Prazak introduce the show with a ludicriously bright spot light on their faces. They introduce the four corner survival match and show Nigel watching backstage, each man poses and cuts and says something to the camera.
.
Number One Contender Match

Good win for Steen, he still has a strong personality but these two didn't particularly click. (**1/2)
.
We then cut away to Jimmy Jacobs is backstage and he gives a pep rally about the ills of society and he tells everyone that they have to make that change for. He then starts a chant. Well that was a insane brawl, was blodding in moments but completely brutal. This match however was just to dangerous and risky for its own good. To many unprotected chair and shovel shots to the head and Mark's cut was absolutely sickening. While I wish these matches would go away this was a bloody and thrilling brawl. (***1/2)
.
We then see Mark's cut and how deep it is backstage as Jay say this is what ROH take no prisoners is all about.
.
Larry Sweeney is in the ring with Bobby Dempsey. He talks to all the bed wettters and nose pickers because its time for the Larry Sweeney show. He says he's launching a hostile takeover of ROH, he's not going after management. He's gonna sign all the best champions and sell them up the river to Vince. Ahahahhahahahahha. He then asks Sweet and Sour Inc. to join the Larry Sweeney show. Larry is glad to have Adam Pearce on the Larry Sweeney show. He has a special announcement. The Hangman three are selling out and joining the Sweet and Sour family. Whitmer and Pearce don't exactly looked thrilled but Pearce talks them round. Erik Stevens comes out. Selling? Never heard of it. Well that was an insane spot fest with incredible atheleticism with equal measure sloppiness, this matters not because the spots were so incredible. This was not a great match but was at the top end of good. (***1/2)
.
We then see that Adam Pearce and Hagadorn gave BJ Whitmer a spike piledriver on a chair while we were watching the match from Florida.

What a fucking match! Not to sound unproffesional but that was excellent, it felt like it was in fast forward at time but they worked in so many great sequences and counters. Danielson and Aries were both at the top of their games and the story of Danielson isolating the arm when Aries got to agressive was simply superb. Brilliant finish but I could say that about any part of the match. Wish it could have been longer but this is about as good as eighteen minutes of a match could be. This is state of the art wrestling. (****1/4)

Well that was just a brilliantly told and very simple story. The underdog story that everyone can follow and get behind and they did it so well and Nigel played the roll of the total prick so well that the crowd were willing Tyler to win as hard as they could. The kick outs were simple beyond belief and all that conditioning the fans to think no one kicks out of the Jawbreaker Lariat really paid off. Great old school story telling. (****1/2)
.
Overall PPV Thoughts: Definitely not ROH's strongest outing, not at all but the top two matches really carried this show. Danielson-Aries are just brilliant together and Tyler Black had a star making performance as the ultimate cocky underdog. Nigel McGuinness has to end up in WWE or TNA he's just such a hateable heel and great in this cocky role he proved he can have great story telling, and very safe matches, with anyone. The undercard wasn't especially memorable but had something for everyone state of the art wrestling (Aries-Dragon), high flying spots (Vulture Squad-NRC), a bloody chaotic brawl (Briscoes-Age Of The Fall) and a great feel good story to finish things off. ROH continues to deliver must see PPVs.

Top notch tag team match. The Japanese crowd always takes something out of the early stages of matches but they were taken for a great ride and were into the match big time by the conclusion. There were a couple of sloppy and blown spots, Mark looked to have really hurt his foot in this encounter. The action was superb and built excellently and there were some really dramatic moments, inventive spots and some incredible near falls. (****)

They also have the video wire to keep you up to date with what's going on. With some really hot angles in this recap.
.

BJ powers out and drops Tony on the top rope. Tony then lands on his feet off of a German suplex and they exchange bitch slaps. Jimmy is doing his "hoss" gimmick. Sal and Jimmy lock up, Jimmy gets a shoulder block and a pair of arm drags. They do some incredibly lame cross overs and Sal gets a arm drag and a dropkick. Sal and Tony get a nice enzenguri gut buster combo. Tony then kills Jacobs with a nasty back drop driver. Jacobs tackles Tony into the corner but Tony comes bakc with a leg whip. Jimmy counters a knee breaker with a roll up and he then scores with basement dropkick but Tony cleverly counters into a surfboard mannouvre and a camel cutch. Tony then elevates Sal into a legdrop onto Jacobs. Jacobs comes back with a spinning back elbow and he tags in Whitmer. Whitmer scores with some running strikes to little fan fare. Tony counters the boredom with an awesome dropkick to the knee. Tony then scores with a diving gullotine choke but Whitmer counters suplexing Tony into the turn buckle. Jacobs comes off top with the Tomahawk chop and then BJ and Jacobs hit the double backclub flurry. Jacobs scores with a scoop slam and three elbow drops for two. Whitmer gets a snapmare and then Jacobs gets a dropkick and Whitmer finally powerbombs Jacobs onto Tony Mamaluke. Tony Mamaluke gets a gut buster and tags out. Sal comes off top with a driving ranna on BJ. Jacobs comes in and Sal scores with a running pele and a german suplex for two. Jacobs then counters an springboard move into spear. BJ then kills Sal with a running knee strike then a suplex rolled into a northern lights for two. Whitmer misses a boot but kills Sal with a closeline. Whitmer no sells all off Tony's kicks and then in a very lame sequence Tony counters into an arm bar and then the triangle choke Whitmer powers out. Tony blocks the super contra code and then eats a powerbomb from Whitmer. Jacobs and Whitmer then score with the doomsday ranna for a near fall! Sal scores with a plancha on Sal Rinauro leaving Whitmer and Mamaluke. BJ goes to the top rop looking for the super bomb but Sal makes the save with a springboard dropkick sending Whitmer to the floor. Tony gets a sloppy sunset bomb and Sal gives Jacobs a slingshot enzenguri and then the double Rubix Cube Driver gets the win!!!
Well that's got to go down as an upset. Jacobs is great but he was wasted in the hossman gimmick. BJ Whitmer is well BJ Whitmer, this match really didn't click for the most part but the final few minutes including the stunning kick out really made up for some of the awkwardness early in the bout. (**3/4)
.
Whitmer teases throwing a temper tantrum but instead decides to hand the heels the belts and shake their hands.

Ring Of Honor Pure Title Match
Jay Lethal vs. Nigel McGuinness
The crowd inform Nigel that he sucks before the match can start. "Lets go Lethal/Let's Go Nigel" chant. Nigel gets a headlock takedown to start the match but Lethal counters to a headscissore but Nigel rolls his way out quickly and we have a stand off. Lethal gets another headscissores and Nigel headstands and jumps out but leaves himself open to a dropkick. Nigel avoids a chop in the corner and plays to the crowd. Nigel takes down Lethal in a key lock before powering him to the corner and slugging away, Jay turns it around but Nigel blocks everything Jay throws and then gets a snapmare into a arm and chinlock. "Nigel is a pussy" chant. Lethal works his way out and flips over Nigel so Nigel shows of his crazy European atheltism before walking into a front flip kick. Lethal hits two big chops but both times Nigel wrestles through then and a applies a deathlock on Lethal. Lethal escapes and lights Nigel up with a series of blows. Nigel rolls under a closeline and kills Lethal with a closeline. Nigel then scores with the Headstand and mule kick. Nigel gives the crowd the finger and then tells them to go fuck themselves. Lethal hen answers the twenty count a five. Nigel then scores with a divorce court and then a hammerlock divorce court and lays in a stomp. Nigel puts Lethal into the tree of woe and then gives him a brutally stiff kick to the back and then plays to the crowd. "Nigel showing that training with David Beckham is paying off" fuck off Prazak. Lethal blocks another headstand with a running chop and then a back elbow. Lethal scores with the Double A spine buster and then a second rope leaping leg lariat for a two count. Nigel blocks the Dragon suplex but gets kicked in the head allowing Lethal to score with the top rope diving headbutt for two. Lethal dodges a blind charge and kills Nigel with superkick and Lethal applies the Lethal Lock and Nigel uses up his rope break.
The announcer incorrectly announed that rope break and is greated with a you fucked up chant, Nigel then throws Lethal face first into the Iron while Todd Sinclair is out of position and gets the win?
Well that was an okay start to a twenty minute plus match but as a stand alone twelve minute match felt like an anticlimatic let down. Another match wrestled low on intensity, might have stole the show if it had been allowed to run. (**1/2)
.
Jimmy Rave (w/Prince Nana & Jade Chung) vs. Roderick Strong
The crowd of course want Jimmy to die but he's not gonna let it bother him, what a trooper. Rave grabs a side headlock takedown but Strong counters with the headscissors Rave slips out and back into the sideheadlock but Strong powers him up and then down in a keylock. Rave and Strong both absolutely tee off on each other with huge chops Strong of course wins and Rave is forced to run for his life. Rave gets a sideheadlock takedown when he returns to the ring but Strong fights his way out however Rave manages to dodge a closeline and applies a side headlock. Rave tries to walk the ropes in the headlock but Strong counters nicely with a back suplex. Strong is just tearing Rave's chest up with some huge chops. Strong gives Rave a hard irish whip and Rave takes a silly looking Harley Race bump to the outside. Strong follows up with a baseball slide dropkick. Nana distracts Roderick and Rave manages to shove Strong off the apron and into the gaurd rail. Rave then rams Strong's head again and again into the guard rail. Rave scores with a snap suplex for two and then a curb stomp. Rave then gets two off of a neckbreaker and he applies a chinlock. Rave runs into a back elbow and Roderick scores with a second rope cross body. Strong gets carried away and misses a blind charge and is hit hard with a northern lariat for two. Rave then scores with the running knee strike for two. Strong pops up with a traditional half nelson back breaker and he anihilates Rave with a running Yakuza kick. Strong gets a running forearm in the corner and another back breaker gets two. The crowd chant "break his back" but Rave counters the back breaker and scores with a spear and the Northern lights bomb for two. Nana throws Rave a chair but the ref tops it. Roderick Strong scores with his patternted gut buster and the Strong hold gets the submission.
Now that was more like it. Good stiff intense action, with some nice counters and good sequences. An impressive effort from both men, not an all out match but a good midcard display. (***1/4)
.
Post match Nana kills Strong. They try to kill strong usesing Chungs Dog Leash but Chung can't hold herself. Nana goes nuts shouting at Chung so she rips off her dress and low blows Rave and Nana and hugs Strong who challenges the Embassy to Steel Cage Warfare.
.
Ricky Reyes vs. Pelle Primeau
Reyes kills Pelle with a stiff kick and brutal shoulder block then a nice back suplex. Reyes then gets a spinning powerbomb and the guillotine choke for the win.
Impressive Squash.
.
James Gibson vs. Jimmy Yang
Jamie gets the heroes welcome going around the ring giving everybody who wants one a high five, you can really tell he enjoyed his time in Ring Of Honour and it actually looks like he's considering it when the crowd chant "Please don't go".
They lock up and won't let go as they rock around the ring. They eventually get a clean break in corner sparking another "please don't go" chant. Noble spins into a leg trip but gets kicked off and both men flip each other off with their feet. "Smackdown suck" chants rang out during that exchange. Jimmy escpase a keylock into a side headlock but Jamie gets the head scissors but Jimmy kips up and back into a headlock. "Let's go Gibson/Let's Go Yang" chant errupts. Yang gets a shoulder block and goes back to the side headlock, Gibson shouts shit! Gibson works out into a la magistral for a one count. Gibson gets a knee drop onto the arm and then goes to an arm bar. Jimmy gets a kick to the chest and then a spinning back kick to floor Jamie. Jamie counters a powerbomb with an arm drag, Jamie then gets a sick counter, he turns a hip toss into a rebound arm drag off the ropes and then a beautiful neckbreaker for two. Yang gets the run up the chest back flip kick on Noble and then a superkick gets a nearfall! Jimmy then locks in a camel clutch and the crowd come to life as Gibson powers up and breaks it in the corner. The crowd comes to life yet again. They then do a near fall exchange with some really unique craddles at the beggining and it ends with a back slide which neither man wins so they turn and kill each other with a double closeline. As both men are down we get a "Let's Go Gibson/Let's Go Yang" chant. Gibson scores with a high knee and a running back elbow. Noble then scores with a back body drop. Yang runs in to a double A spinebuster for a near fall! Gibson gets a body slam but misses the second rope elbow. Gibson runs into a boot and Yang hits a Huge moonsault press for a near fall. Yang then hits a brutal spin kick that Noble monster sells but Noble rolls out of the way of the Yang Time. Gibson kills him with a awesome DDT and then a butterfly lock, Yang blocks the Gibson Driver but Jamie avoids the back body drop with the butterfly guillotine choke. Yang scores with a back breaker and then lands with Yang Time but it only gets a near fall! Yang tries to go up top but Gibson shoves him off top and scores with a running corner powerbomb straight into the Gibson Driver but its gets a NEAR FALL!!! The crowd popped like that was the finish and so did I, Jamie then immediately locks in a guillotine choke and Yang taps quickly.
Well odd but dramatic finish, they actually wrestled quite a WWE style match. Gibson was excellent in this match and very sharp in this one. They reigned in the incredible stuff but put on a very good showing, Yang remains awkward to work with, something about him when he isn't jumping around is very clunky. Noble got his heroes send off and nice win. (***1/2)
.
The crowd then start a huge "Thank You Gibson" chant as some highlights from his time in ROH are aired. The crowd then chant "Please Don't Go" we see more clips as Noble hugs Yang. The crowd then chant "Please come back". Noble gets on the mic and the crowd chant "MVP". Noble says he'll be more than happy to come back anytime this company wants him and these people need him. James Gibson says this year has been the most fun and pleasent of his career and he's put on some of the most dramatic and best matches of his career this year. He then thanks Jimmy Yang. Gibson then challenges Roderick Strong and promises to give the best performance he could possible give for you people and this company. The crowd chant "MVP" Noble says you damn right and challenges Roderick Strong to take his status as the crowd applaude Jamie looks really genuinely happy.
.
Homicide vs. Jack Evans (w/Julius Smokes)
Homicide gets an arm wringer but Jack flips out and reverse but Homicide rolls back into his own arm wringer. Evans then back and front flips out and smacks down the arm playing to the crowd. Homicide says he can't see him. Homicide counters a hip toss to a monkey flip but Evans lands on his feet, Jack goes for a monkey flip but Homicide lands on his feet. Homicide does a jig and the crowd start a huge "you got served" chant, Jack Evans then shows off his breakdancing. Homicide has seen enough and charges with a mafia kick but Evans counters with a leg sweep. Jack comes back with a head scissors and kip up before Evans scores with a running sucide front flip dive. Evans scores with a sling shot cross body for two. Evans scores with a running knee strike for two. Evans gets a snapmare randomly and then runs into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Homicide gets a bridging T-Bone suplex for two. Homicide floors Evans with a really stiff chop. Evans comes back with a pop up ranna for two but he's soon cut down with a back elbow. Homicide then cinches in half crab and a headlock pulling Evans foot against his head. Homicide puts Evans in the tree of woe and then scores with a hesitation dropkick. He then gives Jack a leg drop from the apron over the bottom rope. Homicide runs into a pair of boots and Evans counters a tilt-a-whirl move with an arm drag and Homicide scores with a nice swinging DDT for a near fall. Homicide misses a stinger plash but Evans ends up crotched on top. Evans knocks Homicide off top and then hits a double backflip butt butt for a near fall. Evans then counters a Farewell with a dropkick. Evans gives Homicide a baseball slide sending him into the front row. Evans then hits a double front flip plancha into the front row. Evans then gives the thugs a front flip plancha. Evans hits a nice slingshot dropkick on Homicide and they battle on the top rope. Homicide kills Evans with a implant DDT off the top rope. That only got a near fall as Evans gets his foot on the ropes. Evans flips out of the Cop Killa but Homicide shoves Evans off a ranna and scores with a lovely 187. Homicide calls for the Lariat and promptly kills him with it. Homicide has the pin but Colt Cobana is on the balcony dressed as John Cena and cuts rap promo on Homicide that gets serious towards the end. Evans then scores with the spike reverse ranna and the wheel barrow roll up for the win.
Not a classic as Jack was in a very loose and floppy mood but this was a well executed fun match up, with the two personalities playing off each other nicely, soft finish but that was of course to further the Cobana-Homicide fued. (***1/4).

Icon vs. Icon
Samoe Joe vs. Kenta Kobashi
The crowd reaction for Kobashi is behond mental. A few rolls of toilet paper are thrown in Joe's dirrection. The Ring is absolutely destroyed by the amount of ticker tape thrown in when they announce Kobashi. The legand that is Kobashi actually looks shocked by how big a reaction he's getting here in the US.
They respect the code of honor and the crowd go abosutely ape shit and then drop to silence as they lokc up. Joe gets a couple of side kicks and the crowd oooh and ahhhh. Joe then powers Kobashi to the ropes and bitch slaps him and stares him down. Kobashi does a brilliant sell reaction and a huge "Kobashi" chant errupts. Kenta hits a brutal chop on Joe and they shove each other. I think the crowd just collectively ejackulated. The crowd chant "This is awesome". They go to a test of Strenght Joe manages to score with a suplex and then hits Kobashi with a huge shoulder block and then a missile dropkick and a suicide dive. The crowd manage to go even more nuts.
Joe rolls him back into the ring and gets two. Joe scores with a body slam and an elbow drop for two. Joe applies a tight facelock and then a dragon sleeper. The crowd chant "Kobashi/Joe" as Kenta makes the ropes. Joe gets a couple of chops in the corner and Kobashi gets old man Jap pissed off and begins to kill Joe with Chops but Joe comes back with two stiff kicks and then the most brutal sounding Enzenguri you'll ever here and Kobashi sells like he's KOed. Joe gets the mini kick combo but Kenta no sells and scores with two jobs, Joe goes back to the Joe kicks, Kobashi no sells, chops and finally the Joe kicks floor him. The crowd chant "ROH". Joe gets the front and back chops and then a knee job and Kenta bails. Joe gives Kenta seat a rings side and kicks Kenta in the chest which he facailly sells excellently. Then its the Ollay kick and Kenta is dropped. He goes for a second but is met with a chop to the ear. Kenta puts him on the chair AND CHOPS HIM INTO THE FRONT ROW. Huge "Kobashi" chant errupts. People chant "I can't see shit" as there on the otherside. Kobashi then gives Joe a DDT on the floor which silences them. They go back to the ring to huge cheers.
Kobashi grabs a front facelock and then some of his stiffest chops, God knows how he gets them so hard with such little back lift. He then gets rope running knees and then the Burning Sword. He then plays to the crowd with the chop drop combo. "Kobashi" chant starts up again as he gets two. Kobashi locks in the front facelock and the crowd chant "This is awesome". Joe makes the ropes. Joe blocks a suplex and scores with a vertical suplex of his own. They both get up and charge, Kenta has the kiler chops, Joe has the kicks, they don't work so its a CHOP BATTLE this is just mental as Joe has a flurry but Kenta no sells and unloads on Joe's ear, then his neck and then finally floors him with a huge chop to the chest the crowd of course love it.
Kobashi applies the abdominal stretch but Joe makes the ropes. Kenta gets another chop drop but only gets two. Kent then applies a tight step over face lock and Joe fades, he then puts a knee in Joe's back and drops and elbow on Joe's head. He then gets the ear chop flurry but Joe blocks the spinning back chop and takes Kobashi down and scores with the senton back splash. Joe gets the Flair Flurry in the corner a long one until he's exhausted. Kenta blocks a powerbomb so a couple of short range kick soften him up and Joe lifts him for a powerbomb spins and then powerbombs him into the corner. The crowd chant "Holy shit". Joe then shows that even a legend deserves a facewash and he then scores with the Muscle buster for a near fall!!!!! The crowd go nuts.
Joe is shocked, the crowd chant Joe along with the knee strikes. Joe powerbombs Kenta for two when he kicks out he goes to the STF, Kenta tries to block but can't as the crowd chant "Please Don't tap". Just as his out strecth arm reaches the rope he changes to crossface. HUGE "Kobashi" chant. As his other arm reaches Joe switches to a Rings Of Saturn and finally Kobashi gets his leg on the ropes as the crowd go bananas. Joe charges a limp Kobashi and runs into a neck chop and a SICK half Nelson suplex, Joe didn't jump that was all lift from Kobashi. "Holy Shit" say the crowd, both men make it up at seven.
Kobashi gets the spinning back fist then the million chop flurry in the corner, Joe sells like he's been fucked in the arse, Kenta teases slowing down and then speeds up and wipes his hands. He must of hit a 100 at least Joe's chest is bruised already then he hits the prayer strikes. Joe looks KO. Then he hits a quick release half nelson suplex but Joe makes the ropes.
Joe explodes with forearms but runs right into a sleeper and the sweat is flying of both men. As Joe reaches for the ropes Kenta scores with a Sleeper Suplex for a NEAR FALL!!!! The crowd can't believe that. Joe fires up with the bitch slap combo. Kobashi blocks a the closeline and hits three killer spinning back fists and he Knocks Joe the fuck up with the burning lariat for the 1-2-3.
The crowd chant "Kobashi". Kobashi then helps Joe to his feet who looks genuinely beaten to a pulp to his feet for a handshake and hug. Joe then drops to his knees in a classic moment. They then shake hands a pose. As the crowd chant in Japanese Kobashi bows to the crowd and leaves dripping in sweat as the crowd chant "Match of the Year". Joe is then helped to the back by Jay Lethal. They then show some slow motion replays and the suplexes and chops were absolutely brutal.
That was absolutely incredible! This was the equal to Hogan-Rock and Flair-Micheals! This is an absolute must see for the wrestling fans. It's not Danielson-McGuinness in terms of sheer in ring brilliance, as much of what they did was basic but the match told a tremendous story. The crowd were behind each and every move, Kobashi's timing was superb and the action was brutal and intense even the facelock and sleepers. Kobashi's chops and suplexes are just something else. This was an epic encounter for the ages like Danielson-McGuinness you just didn't want it to end. (****3/4)
.
Post Match Joe cuts a promo which is awesome.
.
Overall Thoughts: The undercard isn't really up to ROH lofty standards but there's plenty of good action and fun to be had. Make no mistake his is a one match show. Joe-Kobashi while I scored i ****1/2 objectively is a ***** match in terms of begining an event. Similar to Micheals-Flair its just a moment that has to be witnessed and if everything else on the card had sucked (which it didn't) this match would have carried it. Big recommendation.

Unforgiven
Matt Hardy deafeats Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero, Finlay and The Miz to win the ECW in a Championship Scramble Match
Synopsis: Matt Hardy and the Miz started the match and seemed to have forgotten they were wrestling on a Pay Per View and instead must have thought they were at house show as they exchanged chinlocks and basic moves. Chavo Guerrero added a little spice to the action as they exchanged move interesting offence. Business really picked up when your most improved superstar of 2008 Mark Henry entered the ring and destroyed everyone with press slams, farewells and world's strongest slams and picking up a pin along the way. Henry smartly used bearghugs to neutralize the action. Finlay came in and we had a pretty exciting conclusion to the match with a variety of finishers and Matt getting a pin with about two and half minutes to go with a twist of fate on Miz that cut him wide open. The last few minutes were chaos (which played nicely into the gimmick) and Matt Hardy won when Henry couldn't get a three count after serveral attempts.
Overall Thoughts: This was the best translation of the gimmick creating a realistic action and logic conclusion without making anyone out to look like a total bafoon. The wrestling was basic but solid and their was a decent amount of drama created by the stipulation. Henry, oddly, was the only worker who up the energy levels. Good opener. (**1/2)
.
Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase defeated Cryme Tyme to retian the World Tag Team Titles with a reversed small package.
Synopsis: The psychology was the most basic tag team formulae, JTG took an extended unisinpired beatdown for the first eight minutes before Shad got the tag, both teams teased victory before Ted Dibiase tunred a small package over to retian the titles. Post match Afa Jnr. debuted to beat down Cryme Tyme and form a legacy grouping.
Overall Thoughts: This was a 1980s house show match without doubt, very basic, very safe, and very forgettable. This match type would have worked a treat if the crowd were hot for Cryme Tyme, but they were anything but. Tonights Ohio crowd was a stinker as well as a non-sell out. Shad looked sharper and tighter in the ring than usual, but this match despite a strong position on RAW did nothing for the workers involved. WWE could do with a veteran tag team to help these guys out, maybe signing Team 3D for a month or two wouldn't have been such a bad idea.
.
Shawn Micheals defeats Chris Jericho by TKO in an unsanctioned match.
Synopsis: Shawn's arm was heavily protected and there were definitely some scary moments in this brutal all out brawl. Micheals beat the tar out of Jericho and they played up to all the subtlies of the storyline through out. Shawn used a fire extinguisher to blind Jericho, Shawn also refused to finish Jericho with a superkick early. Lance Cade played his roll well to give Jericho the advantage as the heels worked over the arm. Shawn took the big bump with a flying elbow from the top rope through the announce table on Cade and Jericho. The finish was very well done with Micheals convaying hatred and regret and he went after Jericho's eye pounding him into unconsciousness which Jericho sold for three minutes without moving while HBK made his way to the back.
Overall Thoughts: Considering Micheals limitations this match was superb, excellent plotted out and the emotions being conveyed and execution from everyone involved was brilliant. Best of all they had an all out brawl without using unguarded shots to the head. Can't really give them enough credit for how well they pulled this match with so many limitations. Incredibly satisfactory conclusion to the fued of the year. (****)

Triple H defeated Jeff Hardy, MVP, Shelton Benjamin and The Brian Kendrick to retain the WWE in a Championship Scramble Match
Synopsis: The match started terribly as it was clear that they were toning it down as to not show up Triple H. Jeff was on awful form in this match, needing a rest hold after two minutes of slow action to regain his breath. Hardy went on to miss a whisper in the wind, a front flip plancha, a mule kick and he completely blew the counter of The Kendrick (Sliced Bread). That said the match picked up when MVP and The Brian Kendrick entered the match. Kendrick was without doubt the break out star, his selling was top notch and his offense while reigned in (you don't want heels to get cheered do we) was unique and impactful. I have to admit marking out when Kendrick pinned Hardy and the screen read Brian Kendrick current WWE Champion. Kendrick would of course go onto to be pinned three times in a row but no doubt he made his name and got his gimmick over. When the gargantuan Triple H entered the ring, he had all the athletic guys pinging around the ring for him. Despite this the action was good an dramatic the finish saw Triple H get a pedigree and a last minute pin with Jeff Hardy watching him do it!
Overall Thoughts: This was the best scramble match but terribly pulled off. Hardy was just awful tonight forget botching all the spots he totally blew the finish. Had things gone according to plan Hardy would have got up as the ref's hands smacking the mat for a three count as Triple H pinned Kendrick and would have dived for a cover on Shelton as the time expired. As it played out Jeff Hardy who had the winning pin fall already, got up just as Triple H began to pin Kendrick had three seconds to take two paces or one dive to break up the pin but instead he stood there looking like a retard watching Triple H get the pin and then a two went for a pin on Shelton. THIS MAKES NO SENSE, HE ALREADY HAD THE PIN! THE CROWD WERE COUNTING DOWN THE FINAL SECONDS. JEFF HARDY FUCKS EVERYTHING UP, HE'S A RETARDED JUNKY. They will have to cover for him big time on Smackdown. (***1/4)
.
Michelle McCool defeats Maryse Oullett to retain the Diva's Title.
Synopsis: The crowd just plain shat all over this match. Which is a shame because the two Divas put on a perfectly acceptable time filling Diva's match with some good athelticism and intensity. Michelle won with the front suplex.
Overall Thoughts: Fine effort from two women who are clearly attempting to learn their craft. (*)
.
Randy Orton gave Afa, Cody and Ted a team talk about how they have proven nothing too him tonight. Later Orton confronted Punk and they had a war of words. Cody, Afa and Rhodes assualted Punk and Randy knocked him out with the punt of doom. Orton was simply brilliant tonight.
.
Undertaker came out to kill Vickie Guerrero who had just confronted Big Show. In an incredibly long and boring beatdown, Big Show turned heel knocked out Undertaker and allowed Vickie to slap and spit on him.
.
Chris Jericho defeated Kane, Batista, Rey Mysterio and JBL to win the World Heavyweight Title in a Championship Scramble match.
JBL and Batist started this match with some incredibly clunky and incredibly funny action to kick off the contest. JBL was then basically taken out and spent the most of the match on his arse (hiliariously). Kane came in and we had to endure another terrible five minutes of Kane vs. Batista with Kane picking up a pin before Batista got one of his own. Rey came in and added energy but did nothing to add polish to the match up. The only really interesting drama came when Rey turned on Batista in the context of the match. With CM Punk unable to complete the main drama was generated from the mystery of who would replace Punk. Jericho's music hit and Jericho hobbled to the ring, it took about two minutes for him to reach the ring. Batista speared everybody and picked up a pin. Jericho however played up to the gimmick cleverly by hiding for the entire match and sneaking in with a last minute pin.
Overall Thoughts: Awful Match, clunky, ugly and uninteresting. The replacement rule was in full effect in this one. Jericho at least did the realistic thing, hiding and waiting for the last possible moment to sneak a pin. Batista looked pretty dumb in this one, but he always does and it fitted his "destroy everyone" tactic. The suprise finish just about covered up for an abortion of a match. (1/2*)
.
Overall Thoughts: The Shawn Micheals match is worth watching the PPV for if you have the abilty to fast forward. The Scramble Match wasn't particularly interesting and had no logical build up but did create some interesting drama. I would neither be happy nor unhappy if the Scramble match was to become a regular feature, although preferably not three in one night. So I can't recommend that anyone buy this show, but if you can get it for three its an enjoyable and light three hours with a one top match.
