We start in the UK training session and they are doing some of the most bizarre looking work outs you could ever imagine. It looks like its friend vs. friend Faulkner vs. Pierce. Faulkner is s sold as having the lot in terms of skill set but Bisping has all ready stated he's weak mentally.
Back to the house and Ritchie has a contagious bacterial infection its not herpes but the guys are all paranoid that there going to get an infection. Pierce has never had an injection in his life. This guy goes mental spraying every part of the room. Pierce seems incredibly low on confidence and drive. We then find out Pierce has burst some blood vesels in his foot. Pierce then kicks with his foot by mistake.
The British guys training gets even odder as they start hitting a tyre with a sledge hammer, Dean manages to put the Sledge hammer through the mat. Andre then manages to miss the tyre and hits the concrete floor.
On the US side of things Pierce continues to moan he's not happy to be sparring and he won't throw punches. He likes to train according to his body. This guy lots like a mental mess, Diabata the coach things Pierce is a pain in the arse. Dan and the coaches try to teach the guys the importance of being positive and not to dwell on mistakes. They say training is over and Pierce just walks off where as the other guys want to stay on.
In the house they speculate about whether Pierce is going to actual fight or walk away. Damarquez says Pierce is negativity is contagious. Dent tells Pierce that they are talking shit about him while he's not in the room. Dent and Pierce stick together. It's interesting I'm not sure who I sympathise with there are three cocky dicks but Pierce is an awkward fuck.
We go back to UK training and it turns out that Faulkner hit himself with a hammer and has a localized infection, Bisping can't believe he managed to hit himself with the hammer. It turns out that his leg has swollen up.
Dana introduces the coaches challenge and this year its tennis. Bisping has never played before. Its ten grand for whatever coach wins its fifteen grand for each member of the Team that wins. Both coaches look embarsingly bad, this is unbelievably shit. This is insanely funny you can't imagine how awful these guys are. Henderson goes 1-0 up. Henderson goes 2-0 up acing every single serve. It goes to 4-1 then 5-2 before Henderson eventually wins 6-2. God you can tell these two guys are fighters Bisping tells them to shove tennis up there arse.
They announce the next fight as Ross Pearson vs. Ritchie Whitson. Ritchie's face infection looks to be clearing up. During training the coach manages to knock Ritchie through the cage. Back at the house Dan Henderson brings in a birthday cake for Ritchie wile Cameron is crying outside about how he misses his family and how he wants to pay the bills, he then starts crying about how he'd like a better relationship with his parents. Dan sorts that out with some fatherly advice aahhhhhh.
We then go into the pre fight type Ross Pearson talks about failing school and becoming a brick layer and how it was his dream to fight in a UFC octogon.
Ritchie Whitson vs. Ross Pearson
My Prediction: This is a tough one to call I can't remember Ritchie's first fight too well. I think this one will be very close, I get the feeling Ritchie will be more proffesional and will catch Pearson being over agressive. (My record 3-2)
Round One: Ritchie throws some stiff kicks but Pearson gets him turned against the fence. They go to a clinch against the fence but it comes to nothing both men miss wild roundhouses and Pearson gets a takedown but nothing comes of it. Ross gets a big takedown and hits a knee strike while his opponent was down and the referee has to break it up. The referee takes a point off Ross. Ritchie throws some hands and big kicks but can't land. Ross dodges a a kick and unloads from a clinch before getting another big takedown and this time he hits a nice knee strike. Pearson then gets a monster takedown and goes for the rear naked choke loses position but rolls through into a arm bar.
Wow a really great fight, both guys were agressive this was pretty much non stop action and it had a really nice finish.
Team UK 4-2 Team US
Overall Thoughts: This was a solid episode with lots of fun and intriguing character development in the house and between the coaches. Some of the characters seem really intriguing now you get to know them. Only one fight this week but it was a damn good four minutes of action with a sweet finish. (7/10)
