Plot Synopsis: Hancock (Will Smith) is a superhero only problem is he's not much of a hero he's drunk, surley and generally an arsehole. Until one day he saves the life of a PR guru and is taken in by him and his sceptical wife (Theron). Using his powers in PR they set about turning around Hancock's image and uncovering his past which Hancock himself has no knowledge of.
Review: Hancock is enjoyable and Will Smith is his loveable self but the problem is its just not as much fun as it should be. It's one thing when Smith's serious films aren't that good you kind of expect that and secretly hope one day he'll win and oscar. When a fun Will Smith film isn't fun there's a real problem and its mainly down to the script the film premise is initially intriguing and engaging but its clear that the writers ran out of ideas half way through the film and the picture gravitates downwards rapidly towards a very lame ending. That said Hancock is a perfectly enjoyable way to waste an hour or two problem is it just doesn't have the "hell yeah" fun of other Smith efforts. (**)
