Okay I'm not going to try and deny that it's great but do we really need to hear the phrase "Poker Face" any more this summer? Well Kid Cudi thinks so as he's decided to sample Gaga on his latests single. The vocals have been stripped right down and stretched, this does Gaga's voice absolutely no favours. She's meant to sound all thirties and soultry but it's instead it makes me throw up in my mouth a little. Rap wise Cudi swagger is passable and Kanye and Common bring their usual flow, they're sharp and Kanye's rhymes are particularly thrilling. He manages to go from the Mendula Oblongata to Moses via some good old fashion fellatio. Unfortuanately its that boshly cocky materielistic garbage that ruins so much of rap music. Kanye's always more interesting when his raps are coming from his heart not his dick. Ultimately Make 'Em Say is a reasonable follow up single, it's nowhere near as irresistable as Day & Night or Pokerface but it has enough redeeming features to avoid being labbelled utter garbage. Palatable but forgettable.
