Daveportivo's Cultural Evaluation Facility

Music, Politics, Flim, Books and TV all shall be reviewed within.

We run through the fights from last week. We then see Forrest joking around saying in his evaluation "this guy needs a hair cut". Rampage rips on Simmler for looking like Leonidis.

Dan Simmler (1-0) vs. Mathew Riddle (1-0)

Round One: Simmler catches a boot immediately but Riddle gets an awesome dragon screw leg whip and gets into Simmler's guar. Riddle gets a leg kick and Simmler misses a high kick. Simmler goes for a flying arm bar but crashes and burns allowing Riddle to land a pair of big rights. They go to the clinch against the cage where Riddle lays in some big knees. Riddle explodes with strikes but Simmler recovers and hits a knee strike. Both men exchange knees and Dan blocks a takedown and unloads before getting taken down hard. Dan does a good job of guarding untila Riddle explodes with some strikes. Dan lays on his back and kicks away to end the round.

Round Two: Riddle catches him with an absolutely killer brutal right hand knocking him out cold on the spot, and Simmler is screaming and moaning, its really haunting, the medic says he's Jaw is fucked. They replay the strike and it was absolutely sick, the three follow up punches were totally unnecessary.

The first round was a good solid round but the first punch Knock Out was as great a knock out as you'll ever see in your life. When Dan comes to he doesn't know what's going on, he asks Rampage where he is, he doesn't know if his face got hurt in training or a match. He's been knocked so silly he doesn't remember anything that's happened today. That was horror movie stuff. (C)

Luke Zachrich (7-1) vs. Patrick Schultz (7-1-1)

Round One:
Schultz hits a jab catches a boot takes his opponent down and unloads. Luke dodges a punch and gets a takedown, Rampage notes that Schultz took himself down. Both men wrestle around and up to their feet where Luke hits a nice waist lock takedown. Luke doesn't impress with his ground and pound. Luk manages to get Shultz's back and eventually gets the submission with the rear naked choke.

Tough even fight. Fine for a first round fight. (D-)

Tim Credeur (10-2) vs. Erik Charles (10-5)

Round One:
Tim goes for a takedown and gets it, he then passes guard and then quickly locks on the arm bar for the win.

Wow Erik was out of his league next to a Brazilian Black Belt. (E+)

We then go to fight highlights it looks like a great fight between Aaron and another guy, Rampage tries to help him but Aaron refuses to listen and Brandon Sene goes through. We then go to a fight between Mike and Gerrald, Gerald gets an absolute monster pair of takedowns and some brutal ground and pound before winning by decision. We then see highlights of Riggs vs. Cramner, one gut completely botches a triangle choke, this is possibly the least technical fight in history. One guy hits a serious of up kicks which are illegal in UFC but Legal in Pride. The guy with no skills showed incredibly heart but just had no skills. Cramner goes through.

Nick Rossborough (8-3) vs. Jesse Taylor (6-2)

Round One:
Jesse gets a takedown immediately and he works over Rossborough agains the cage. Rossborough has zero wrestling skills and keeps getting taken down. Jesse tries to pass guard but Nick gets against the cage before allowing Jesse to get a top mount pummelling Nick until he turns over and Jesse gets the Rear Naked Choke for the win.

Fine fight, Jesse's wrestling skills were just too good for Nick, he looks like a grade A wrestler. (D)

Josh Hall (3-2) vs. Matt Brown (9-6)

Round One:
They throw hands before Hall goes for a big takedown btu Hall defends it well and they go up against the cage. They exchange some knees, they try to wrestle each other down and Matt shows he has a good takedown defence. Brown throws and kneee and Hall unloads with a big flurry of dirty boxing. Matt doesn't just take it and throws some nice strikes of his own. Brown hits a nice jab and a sweet leg kick but Hall gets a good takedown. Hall passes guard breifly but couldn't connect with any thing large. Matt goes for a triangle but he can't quite get it and Hall pounds away. Brown gets a traingle lock and Hall tries to break it with two powerbombs but only makes it tighter. Hall rolls out but then rolls back into, Brown then pins Hall down and beats the holy hell out of his opponent, until the referee calls a TKO.

Really great fight, all action, Matt Brown was superb he showed off some awesome skills, good back and forth with some high quality skills on display. (C-)

Dana said bye to the loses and said they proved tonight that there were no pussies and wishes them all well. Next week wee find out whose on whose team.

Overall Thoughts: Really good show this week with two great fights and one of the great knock outs. Seriously you will never seen anything like that again. Rampage and Forrest are making superb captains, there so naturally charismatic, great stuff. (8.5/10)

About this blog

This is your one stop shop of pop culture reviews I most specialize in Music, Politics & Film. I occasionally delve into TV reviews. I've got a Politics MA and a War Studies BA, I'm taking a year out before starting a Phd so when it comes to History and Politics I'm pretty well versed but I tend to keep this blog fun rather than serious.
